Our world turned upside down on Monday, September 29, 2014. What began as an ordinary rainy day, ended in an ambulance ride and the beginning of a mother’s worst nightmare.

At 25-weeks pregnant, my water broke unexpectedly. Medically speaking, I experienced pPROM (Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) is when the amniotic sac breaks before 37 weeks of gestation. Through the power of prayer and God’s grace, we survived those ten terrifying days that ended on October 8 with the birth of our precious daughter.

Marjorie is the definition of a miracle: born three months early, she defied the odds. By all accounts, she should have come home on oxygen, had major eye problems and a host of other complications. But not our girl. After 68 days in the NICU, Marjorie said it was time to come home. Today, Miraculous Marjorie is at home with her big brother and is THRIVING.

This is Marjorie’s Story.

Thinking of you this morning….Also…saw your sweet friend (and her precious daughter) last night as Cary was presented on the UHigh Homecoming Court. They all looked happy and beautiful! Sending prayers up to the Lord for you and your entire family.

You don’t know us, but as members of the Body of Christ, many thoughts and prayers enter my mind as I read about your
    “Journey of Love and Faith”…
God IS with you…giving you HIS peace…
We walk with you in a covering of prayer for you and your husband and
family…all those who God has surrounded you with…I see the arms of
Moses being lifted up by Aaron and Hur and YOUR body and child “lifted up” surrounded
with “pillows of prayer and love” by those who are called to lift YOU up.
God’s weapons for Triumph are HIS WORD, His PRAYER, HIS community.
    You have it all.
    love and blessings,
    The Shaws

    McCall,

Prayers are being sent for you and your sweet family, especially Marjorie. As always, you have such a way with words. One day this will be such a gift for your beautiful daughter to read.

    Happy Sunday!
Rosemary Crifasi Bajon called me to tell me your story. She works with someone who knows you. I live in Jacksonville & spent countless days & nights at Wolfson when our daughter fought cancer (she is 11 years in remission, praise God!) I am originally from Baton Rouge & attended SJA. I just want you to know that I am her for you if you need anything (9049107221). I will be at Wolfson today visiting a friend’s son. Y’all & sweet Marjorie are in our prayers

I came across your story when a friend of mine liked it on Facebook. I wanted to tell you how amazing you and your family are. I started reading from the first entry you made. Don’t know why our paths crossed but just wanted to tell you to hang in there just like you wanted to tell that other Mother that things will get better. My son celebrated his 26th birthday on the same day your miracle came into this world. He too started his life out rough. He was 30 weeks weighed 3 lbs 13 oz and was 18 inches. Today he is 6’5″ and weighs 300. He had a rough time until he was about 5. Always sick and pale and frail. Then he started growing and didn’t stop. One more thing I thought was funny. I went to school with a girl named Marjorie McCall. Her parents nicknamed her “Manky” and it stuck with her. Thanks for sharing your story and will continue to pray for all involved in this precious gift.

I just read your story on FB and teared up myself!! I was in your shoes exactly 2 years ago and hearing the discharge word brought me to tears and I prayed hard for no “Brady’s” and keep up on taking bottles!! It happened we got our wish and our twins came home from nicu Dec 22! Good luck to you and your adorable family!

Your story was so nice to read and know other people go through the same feelings, emotions, ect of NICU!

My thoughts & prayers r w/u and your family. Although I don’t know you, I am in a prayer group that asked for prayers for you when Marjorie was born too early. Then I saw this on Facebook. You are an excellent writer & an awesome mother & I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless you all.
